Over Belt Aerators

With the acquisition of Webac Gesellschaft für Maschinenbau GmbH, Simpson has been able to expand support for the foundry industry.

This includes the integration of the Webac BV Series Over Belt Aerator is fitted to a conveyor belt. The aerator wheel, which is positioned transversely to the direction of the belt, gathers the moulding sand from the belt, and throws it, parallel to the direction of the belt, into an expansion hood, where the sand trickles back on to the conveyor belt.

Due to the design of a conveyor mounting, the Aerator can be integrated into an existing system without any problems.
The over-belt aerators and the vertical shaft aerators can be used with return sand in order to break up the lumps, minimizing the loss of sand. In the area of moulding sand, the aerators are used for fluffing and aerating the sand. This increases the smooth flow of the sand during molding and improves the mold properties. The Webac BV Series Rising Conveyor Aerator has been designed for the intensive aeration of foundry molding sand while mounted over an included belt. The aerator wheel, which is positioned transversely to the direction of the belt, gathers the moulding sand from the belt, and throws it parallel to the direction of the belt into an expansion hood where the sand trickles back on to the conveyor belt.

The Webac BV Series Overbelt Aerator consists of:

  • Aerator housing made of steel plates, inside lined with plastic plates.
  • Sand catching hood made of plastic plates, suspended in a steel frame with connecting flange for exhausting. In the hood movable ramming bats are positioned.
  • Material guiding on the belt with adjustable rubber packing strips.
  • Supporting frame made of structural steel for mounting the aerator on a belt conveyer.
  • Motor with V-bet drive directly running the aerator shaft.
  • Aerator wheel with traversal shaft and outer bearing, ramming bars of the wheel cladded. Distance between aerator wheel and belt conveyor adjustable.
  • Completely assembled unit.
