Michelle Ring Joins Simpson

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Michelle Ring to Simpson as the Technical Services Manager. Michelle will report to Bruce Dienst and work closely with the engineering, sales, and service teams to assist with supporting their customers remotely. She will primarily be working from Carmel, Indiana but will be a frequent visitor to Aurora.

Michelle comes to us with over 15 years of quality and technical experience in foundries including various roles at both former Navistar foundries as well as Gartland Foundry; spending the last 7 years in Minerals Technologies – American Colloid Co as a Technical Sales Manager. She currently serves as the Technical Director of the Ductile Iron Society and will continue in that role after joining Simpson. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy from the University of Illinois, a Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, and completed her Six Sigma Black Belt through American Society for Quality. She has served on panels at AFS Casting Congress and AFS Regional events, as well as presented at several conferences throughout the industry. In addition, she is the co-author of a publication for Evaluating & Reducing the Impact of Hydraulic Oil Contamination on Bentonite Based Sand and Iron Casting Quality. Michelle is the current Vice Chair of Women in Metalcasting, Vice Chair of 4M Green Sand Committee, and a past chair and board member for the AFS Central Indiana Chapter. Michelle presented at the 2021 Foundry Educational Foundation’s College Industry Conference. In 2019 Michelle received of the Women in Metalcasting award.

At home, Michelle has five children who keep her quite busy. She serves as a rec sports commissioner, girl scout troop leader, and secretary of the elementary school PTO executive board.
